The Western Maryland Hospital Train Garden’s engineers will operate the model trains this Saturday, August 23 from 10 - 11:30 am at the Western Maryland Hospital Center, 1500 Pennsylvania Ave, Hagerstown. Please join us and share your memories.
Last Saturday, August 17, about twenty people came to visit. They shared memories of trains in their lives, and the lives of their grandparents and their friends.
One visitor said, “I like to W**d. It is therapeutic for me.” He was invited to contribute his skill to the train garden and he set to work. The tracks are waist high so no bending was needed.
Patients and staff from the Western Maryland Hospital and our neighbors next door, the Coffman Nursing Home, came out to enjoy the summer day and the trains.
The train gardens were part of the rounds by Security Sherry Dominick. She said, “The waterfalls are beautiful.”
Indeed, the waterfalls are amazing. The flow of water has been the focus for the team who worked to update the Train Garden this summer. See the water flowing along the rock lined stream parallel to the trains.
