Fairchild Aircraft 100th Anniversary Homecoming September 12,13 & 14
Join the Hagerstown Aviation Museum to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Fairchild Aircraft! This historic three-day event celebrates aviation, innovation, and community!
See vintage Fairchild aircraft including the iconic Fairchild A-10, 1940s Hangar Dance, Fairchild aircraft rides, Wing & Wheels, classic car cruise-in, A-10 roundtable, food, music and vendors.
Event Daily Admission: $10 per person, 8 and under free.
SEPTEMBER 12th, 9AM-4PM
Join us at the Hagerstown Aviation Museum for a day of vintage airplane landings as Fairchild aircraft owners arrive. A Fairchild A-10 will fly in during the day. Finish your Friday night with a 1940s Hangar Dance 6:30-11PM featuring Big Band music, dancing, food, and drinks. Fairchild Flight Experiences are available in the museum’s PT-19 & UC-61!
SEPTEMBER 13th, 9AM-4PM
Saturday's annual Wings & Wheels Expo at the Hagerstown Aviation Museum will highlight Fairchild and other vintage aircraft including a Fairchild A-10 on display, the 1943 Fairchild Flight Test Hangar, Fairchild Heritage Flight of historic aircraft and various aviation exhibits. Enjoy a Cruise-In with classic cars, trucks, tractors, and more, along with live music at noon, food, and local vendors! Fairchild Flight Experiences are available in the museum’s PT-19 & UC-61!
SEPTEMBER 14th, 9AM-4PM
Join us Sunday for aviation fellowship with morning coffee and doughnuts. Enjoy a speaker series, including an A-10 Warthog Roundtable, and Rosie Reception. Don’t miss the opportunity to say goodbye to our Fairchild Aircraft visitors, including the A-10, and watch history soar as they depart for home! Fairchild Flight Experiences are available in the museum’s PT-19 & UC-61!
The Hagerstown Aviation Museum is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and presenting more than 100 years of the region’s aviation heritage. Over the past 30 years, the museum has grown from a concept to the world’s largest collection of historic Fairchild aircraft, including the PT-19, XNQ, C-82, C-119 Flying Boxcar, C-123K, and F-27. The museum’s archives include more than fifteen thousand photographs and thousands of historic artifacts, personal items, films, and artwork. Visitors can even fly in the museum’s fully restored 1943 Fairchild PT-19. Museum hours are 10am to 4pm Tuesday through Saturday.
Note: In addition to the 100th Anniversary of Fairchild Aircraft event on September 12,13 & 14, the museum is holding a special one-time event on Monday, September 22nd to welcome Maryland Air National Guard Fairchild-Republic A-10C 79-0087 into the museum collection for permanent display.
