Pride and Prejudice - Summer Picnic Theatre

2025 marks the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth – and if you think you know Jane Austen, think again! Pride and Prejudice is A Romantic Romp way ahead of its time. Witness the unfolding of love, family dynamics, and the politics of marriage, set against the backdrop of the beautiful Merrist Wood House.

Why not dress in Regency finery? Bonnets are optional. Pack the rug, prepare the picnic basket and join Guildburys Theatre Company at Merrist Wood, just 3 miles from Guildford – the perfect setting for our celebratory Regency extravaganza.

This year’s picnic and show will be excitingly different – there are some important changes which we are confident you will enjoy.

PRE-SHOW PICNICS
Grounds will open for picnics 90 minutes before curtain-up. Pre-show picnics can be enjoyed on the Regency Picnic Lawn; following your picnic, stroll to the performance area adjacent to the picnic lawn as Longbourn and Pemberley are recreated against the backdrop and facade of the house.

SEATING IN THE AUDITORIUM
Seating for the performance is provided and is UNRESERVED. You will neither need, nor be permitted, to bring picnic chairs into the auditorium.
