Black Mountain Symphony Live at GPAC

Black Mountain Symphony rolls down off the hill to bring its high energy Irish Folk Rock to our Summer Concert Series! Big & Cheesy will be serving up its delicious take on grilled cheese sandwiches and more as our featured food truck for the evening!
Black Mountain Symphony is a six-piece progressive folk band from the hill country of Albany County. Multi-instrumentalists and singers/songwriters all, they have toured throughout New York State, around the Northeast, and across the US, performing alongside acts ranging from Rusted Root to the Young Dubliners to Days of the New. Their live sets showcase a limitless range of influences, blending genres to create a unique emotional experience with every show. Stephanie Fisher of NY TalkRadio.net’s The New Voice remarked, "No one's out there like Black Mountain Symphony...the champagne of eclectic music". Named for the twilight silhouette of the mountains they call home, Black Mountain Symphony began as the high school garage band of siblings Annie (Violin) and Bear (Keyboards) Campo, writing and performing original alternative music to escape the confines of their classical training. The rhythmic guitar and bardic songwriting style of Charlie Burgess complemented the swelling soundscapes of the Campos, and drummer Bill Palinski brought jam-dance ability and pop-punk sensibility to the act. Prog-bass virtuoso Paul Burke, a frequent collaborator on the band’s side projects, now rounds out the rhythm section. Lead guitarist and childhood friend Jesse Sample can be found shredding through Black Mountain Symphony classics, often interweaving harmonies with Annie’s soaring violin lines.
