Celebrate connection, creativity, and community with Guelph-based Ukrainian artist Taras Lachowsky during this special Welcoming Week art workshop. Designed to bring together longtime residents and newcomers alike, this drop-in session invites participants to explore the unifying power of art through hands-on creativity.
Guided by Lachowsky, you’ll experiment with a variety of artmaking techniques while reflecting on the symbol of the tree – a powerful metaphor for connection, growth, and setting down roots in a new place. Whether you’re new to Guelph or have called it home forever, this workshop offers a space to share stories, make art, and build community.
Welcoming Week is a global annual campaign that connects neighbours of all backgrounds through community activities and events, reaffirming welcoming values, fostering a mutual understanding between immigrants and non-immigrants, and building a deeper sense of belonging for Newcomers and all.
