About the event

The Ontario Reptile and Amphibian Atlas: Results from 10 Years of Community Science
Please join Nature Guelph on October 9, 2025 at 7:30 pm for a presentation by Teagan Netten, the Conservation Science Coordinator at Ontario Nature. Teagan will share the story behind the Ontario Reptile and Amphibian Atlas (ORAA), a decade-long community science initiative (2009–2019) resulting in Ontario’s most authoritative resource on reptile and amphibian distribution. Drawing from nearly half a million observation records contributed by over 12,000 participants, Teagan will discuss the challenges, discoveries, and conservation implications arising from the ORAA—and how the data is shaping the future of reptile and amphibian conservation across the province.

Teagan Netten is the Conservation Science Coordinator at Ontario Nature, where she leads community science and research projects, including the ORAA, the Long-term Monitoring Protocol for snakes, and the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas. She brings experience in conservation and public engagement throughout southern Ontario
