NHDOT to discuss extending the life of the bridge carrying US3 over Ammonoosuc River (106/112)
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will host a Public Officials/Public Informational Meeting to discuss extending the useful life of the bridge carrying US3 over Ammonoosuc River (106/112) by performing bridge preservation activities. During construction, traffic on the bridge is proposed to be reduced to a single lane in each direction including elimination of the turn lane. The meeting will include Northumberland officials.
The meeting will be held Monday, December 1, 2025, at 6:00 pm as part of the regularly scheduled Selectboard meeting at the Northumberland Police Department, located at 10 Station Square, Groveton, NH. The public is encouraged to attend and participate.
Citizens and public officials will have an opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts to ensure that the project decisions meet public transportation needs and community goals and protect and enhance the environment.
This project must comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, which requires that the Department identify and assess the project's impact to historic properties. If you have any concerns with historic properties or archaeological resources in the project area, please bring these concerns to the public meeting, or notify the Department.
