EXPLORE MIXED MEDIA LANDSCAPE PAINTING WITH SOPHIE CHAUNCY.
Discover the beauty of landscape painting through a fresh, experimental lens in this four-hour creative workshop led by local artist Sophie Chauncy. Known for her intuitive and nature-inspired practice, Sophie invites participants to explore the natural world using a variety of mixed media techniques.
Throughout the session, you’ll be encouraged to slow down and observe the textures, colours, and forms found in natural materials. Sophie’s teaching style is exploratory and supportive, creating a relaxed environment where curiosity and play are central to the creative process.
Working with watercolours, pastels, inks, and other drawing mediums, you’ll learn how to layer materials and experiment with mark-making. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this workshop offers a chance to loosen up, try new techniques, and connect with the landscape in a meaningful and personal way.
All materials are provided, and no prior experience is necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to explore.
ABOUT SOPHIE CHAUNCY
Drawing inspiration from the natural surrounds of the Yanco Creek where her home studio is located, Chauncy employs multidisciplinary techniques such as watercolour, acrylic, clay, pastel, pen, pencil and charcoal whilst also experimenting with nature printing and stenciling with found materials such as leaves and bark for her works on paper and canvas.
