Session #7: Visual Soil Assessments
Many important indicators of soil health can be observed directly in the field—no lab tests required. In this hands-on class, farmers will learn how to assess soil compaction, soil structure, aggregate stability, and key biological cues using simple, practical techniques. We’ll dig holes together and practice visual soil assessments to better understand how our soils are functioning and how management decisions show up below ground.
