First Day Hike

Join us at Lacawac Sanctuary for a refreshing and inspiring hike through our beautiful winter landscape on January 1, 2026—weather permitting. This is also a great way to jump start your Eager Beaver Hiking Challenge. Enjoy the quiet beauty of the season, learn about the challenge, and begin your year with time in nature. Our environmental educators will lead the way as we explore seasonal ecology, wildlife signs, and the natural history of Lacawac’s 545-acre preserve. Whether you’re looking to kick off a wellness goal, reconnect with nature, or spend meaningful time with family and friends, this hike offers a peaceful and invigorating start to 2026.
