If It's Too Hot, Get Out of the Kitchen! 18th and 19th Century Cooking Innovations

Be sure to come to this wonderful presentation by Terry Sergeant an expert in 18th and 19th Century Cooking methods and innovations. Terry has worked with Colonial Williamsburg and Conner Prairie as well as other historic institution in perfecting the methods used for cooking in colonial and pioneer era. Terry will be sharing the items used by people of the era and demonstrating how they were used to prepare food. 

Have you ever heard of a tin kitchen? Would you like to learn more about the sugar equipment used at the time or maybe how 18th Century folks made ice cream. These things and many more will be shared by Sergeant in this wonderful presentation at Lizabuth Ann's Kitchen - directly behind the Riley Museum and the James Whitcomb Riley Boyhood Home located at 250 W. Main St. Greenfield IN. This event is FREE; however a free-will donation is appreciated. The event will take place on Tuesday August 26 2025 at 6:30pm and is sponsored by the Riley Old Home Society a not-for-profit organization that maintains the Riley Collection and helps to support the efforts of the Riley Boyhood Home.
