In this beginner friendly lesson, we’ll explore how broadsword and saber were used in the 18th and 19th centuries by soldiers, sailors and duelists. Drawing from historical manuals and period techniques, you’ll learn fundamental cuts, guards, footwork and simple drills that bring these weapons to life.
No prior experience is required. If you’re curious about historical martial arts, European swordplay, or want to experience fencing as it was actually practiced, this is a great place to start.
