The Greeneville Greene County History Museum is pleased to announce our first author talk of 2026. In celebration of African American History Month, join museum staff and board members on February 7th, 2026 from 10am until 4pm as we welcome local author, James Story. Mr. Story will read selections from two of his books, The Boy with the Baton and his new book of poetry, When My Spirit Speaks.
The first reading, from 10am until 12pm, is ideal for younger listeners and features The Boy With the Baton, a children’s book inspired by James’s own journey as a young musician. Follow along with an accompanying coloring book designed to integrate music, art, and literacy for young learners.
The second and final reading of the day will be from 12;30pm until 2:30pm. When My Spirit Speaks “is a soul-stirring collection of poems, spoken-word reflections, and meditative writings born from moments of solitude, healing, memory, and faith. Written during seasons of reflection and renewal, these words give voice to the quiet conversations between the heart and God—where questions are honest, hope is restored, and purpose is remembered.” This program is free and open to all visitors.
