VHRP closing with Senator

AMVETS Post 57 is hosting a special meeting with Wisconsin Senator Eric Wimberger regarding the closure of Veterans Housing and Recovery Program facilities in Green Bay and Chippewa Falls. Senator Wimberger represents the 2nd Senate District and is on the Finance Committee that voted to remove monies designated for the VHRP from the state budget. While corresponding with the Senator regarding the VHRP program he asked me to set up a meeting with veterans so he could directly answer questions regarding the budget and its impact on veterans. Senator Wimberger is a veteran himself having served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

The meeting will be held on Monday, August 25th at 6:00pm at Duck Creek Pub (AKA VFW Building), 754 Riverview Dr, Howard. It is open to all veterans and interested parties and we hope to get a large turnout, showing support for this worthwhile program.

Please come out to discuss the state’s budget and its effect on veterans.
