About the event

"What about Peace?" Nature as Ceremony, Healing, and Conservation

Join us for a meaningful, nature-inspired art workshop designed to nurture creativity and well-being. Each participant will receive three signed copies of original artwork to use as their coloring materials, along with thoughtful prompts to guide reflection.
We will begin with a grounding sensory experience to help participants connect with the present moment before moving into our creative exploration. Through the three artworks, we’ll reflect on the role of nature in mental wellness, discover the medicinal benefits of plants, and consider the importance of conserving our natural world. The session will close with a shared poem and a call to action, leaving participants inspired and empowered to care for themselves and the environment.

Bio of Instructor

N’nako Kandé is a bilingual poet, award-winning author of over a dozen books, and multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges ceremony, ecology, and cultural literacy. Born in Côte d’Ivoire and now based in the United States, she is the founder of Nakivoire Ventures and Kande Kulture—platforms celebrating ancestral wisdom, radical softness, and inclusive storytelling. Her latest book, What About Peace?, invites readers to explore harmony through coloring, storytelling, and cross-cultural dialogue, while her Nakbook journal collection and accompanying EP, The Self-Love Blessing, offer tools for healing and reflection. A featured storyteller in the international documentary Cultural Cross Ties, N’nako also leads cultural presentations, guided Silent Hikes, and immersive language experiences that honor ancestral depth and contemporary dialogue. Recognized by multiple Black Excellence of Chattanooga Award nominations, she creates spaces where silence speaks, story heals, and culture remembers.
