Please join Seda at La Mesa del Tango, a practica and shared space for all those interested in Argentine tango to come together as a community to learn, explore, and practice.
La Mesa del Tango symbolizes a shared table — a place where tango is discussed, practiced, and lived together. It is a space for exchange of ideas, music, technique, and community, much like Argentine tango was shared in Buenos Aires before the 1980s, when formal dance schools did not yet exist.
NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE NECESSARY — come as you are.
NO PARTNER NEEDED.
We will spend 1.5–2 hours together. The structure may shift depending on who shows up and what questions arise that day. The intention is that everyone brings their curiosity and leaves with something meaningful.
First hour: warm-up, dancing a few tangos (yes — complete beginners are welcome and encouraged), and exploring foundational tango concepts and musicality.
Second hour: more focused dancing, with prompts and ideas to try with your partner.
What this is not:
I will not be teaching choreographed steps. While we will explore classical Argentine tango elements, the focus is on how and why we move — learning to move comfortably, intuitively, and in a way that respects your body.
This is not a classroom, but a space for discussion, shared inquiry, mutual learning, and co-creation. Questions are always welcome.
Dates: Jan 13th and 27th but looking to expand on weekly basis in Feb
Price: Free / donation-based
Space: see address above; parking is free.
Registration: preferable to let me know if you will be attending

About Seda
Seda grew up in Chattanooga, TN and has long been fascinated by Argentine tango and its music. Her tango journey formally began in 2014 in Moscow, Russia, at Daria Zakharova’s Masterskaya Tantsa.
Balancing tango with a full time physician career, motherhood, personal well-being, and life itself, she has remained deeply committed to the dance. After returning to the U.S. in 2017, her tango path paused during her studies, and she resumed dancing in Ann Arbor, MI in 2021.
What she missed most was the depth and inspiration of Daria’s tango laboratory — shaped by the pedagogical lineage of Norma Gómez Tomasi and Ernesto Carmona (Link to their oldest tango school in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Returning home to Chattanooga in 2023, Seda realized that without an existing tango community, one would have to be built — intentionally, patiently, and collectively.
Her goal is to create a sustainable, not-for-profit Argentine tango community in Chattanooga, while collaborating with regional organizers to foster a cohesive tango ecosystem.
Please feel free to reach out to Seda directly for any questions or concerns related to the practica or ideas for collaboration!
