About the event
Afternoon Goat Hike
Come out to the farm this winter for a magical afternoon hike through the Ten Apple Farm woods with our herd of Alpine dairy goats!
A Ten Apple Farm goat hike is a two hour educational and recreational goat experience. The hike consists of an approximately mile and a half loop through the woods on lightly groomed trails. There is some steep terrain. Children must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by an adult. (Children 4 and under must be carried, and we ask that children 5-7 hold an adult’s hand during the hike). Along the way we’ll talk about the wide variety of things goats are used for, including dairy, fiber, land management, as pack animals, and you’ll learn a thing or two about raising and caring for goats. After the hike you’ll get to try some fresh goat milk with homemade cookies!
Postponement due to weather: We can’t take the goats out if it’s raining. We will be watching the weather and temperature forecast in the days leading up to the hike and will let you know within 24 hours of the hike time whether the hike is a go or not.
Cancellation policy: If we have to postpone the hike due to weather, we will reschedule you on the next available hike, schedule a new make up date for the hike, or offer you a refund. If you cancel at least 7 days prior to the hike date we can offer you a full refund. Otherwise, we can’t issue refunds without at least 7 days notice.
