Alex Austin is the primary songwriter of the band Deerfield Run which blends blues rock with a touch of country and a dash of funk.Their debut, self-titled album was released in September 2017, and the group released their newest album, Reckless, in September 2020.

Bill Arnold is a songwriter based in Clarkston, MI. He currently fronts the band One Ton Trolley,
which features his songwriting. His are thoughtful songs steeped in the Midwest narrative,
collectively defying the label of genre, yet individually providing a comfortable ride for the
listener. One Ton Trolley released a 5-song EP, No Simple Highways, in March 2022. A full-
length 12-song LP , Sunday Morning Cigarettes, was released in February 2023. In addition, Bill
is a co-creator of the new multi-media project Echoes in the Iron that seeks to celebrate and
further ignite the revitalization of rustbelt towns through the transformative power of music,
storytelling, and community.

Wyoming, MI native Cody Robert DeWindt brings Americana to the Midwest with his heartfelt lyrics and county folk influence. From the struggles of trying to make ends meet, battles with the bottle and heartbreak under the neon lights, he’s got a song for everyone.

Melissa Dylan is a singer-songwriter from Grand Rapids, MI, and has been performing throughout Michigan for the last 16+ years. Her style has been described as heartfelt pop-rock with a little bit of snark. Melissa has performed in multiple original and cover bands, most notably Romance for Ransom and The Electric Red; she is a also frequent fill-in for friends in the music community and hosts multiple open mics. Melissa’s favorite thing ever is to build relationships and community with fellow players.

The Stray is a music and arts cafe located in Grand Rapids, MI. In addition to our craft beer, coffee and wine selection, our kitchen will be open serving our full dinner menu until 9pm! Get here early to snag your favorite seat and grab a bite to eat before the show begins. This show is free to attend, but you can support artists through tips.
The Stray is a listening room style venue and cafe, where performers are front and center, not background entertainment. We frequently ask attendees to silence their phones and keep conversations low out of respect to performers and other audience members.
