This November, I’m running the New York marathon for my friend Mary Ann. She passed away this year, so I’m running 26.2 in her honor and raising funds for Restore NYC, where she sat on the board for over a decade.
Restore is a nonprofit organization making freedom real for survivors of trafficking in the US. Learn more here:

To help me cross the finish line of my fundraising goal, you’re invited to an afternoon of board games!
The “entry fee” to game day is a donation to Restore NYC.
Suggested donation is $26.20. Or give whatever feels right to you and your budget.
***You may make a donation in advance or at the event - there will be a QR code you can scan***
This is just a suggestion, and all donations are on an honor system; no one checks to ensure you donated for entry. If you just want to come for moral support and board games, you’re more than welcome :)
Donations can be made anonymously (only the Restore team receives your name and information).
If you’ve already donated, you do not need to donate again to play.
Come hang and grab a game - like Chutes & Ladders, Rummikub, and more - to play with friends. Starting at 1 pm, we’ll play Bingo where you can win amazing or mediocre prizes!
(Bingo was an annual New Year’s tradition with the Dunn family.)

A little more about Restore NYC (including information about a program Mary Ann and I helped launch in 2016):
Restore is a non-profit dedicated to ending trafficking by providing comprehensive support to survivors.
• Restore’s Client Services program provides survivors with counseling, resource coordination, and comprehensive case management services.
• Restore’s Housing program creates a path to healing and independence by offering emergency housing, transitional housing, and independent living.
• Restore’s Economic Empowerment program provides survivors with job readiness classes, job placement, and entrepreneurship training (the program Mary Ann and I helped launch in 2016)
What your donation provides:
• $50 provides a week’s worth of groceries for a survivor in Restore’s transitional home
• $125 provides a survivor with a monthly unlimited MetroCard to move freely throughout NYC
• $250 provides 1 week of childcare for a survivor who is a working mother
• $750 provides 4 months of trauma-informed counseling to a survivor in Restore’s Client Services
• $1,000 provides for one month’s rent for independent living in Restore’s Housing program
I’m halfway to my goal of raising $5,000 and would love your help getting me closer to the finish line.
