Banned! The History and Ongoing Impact of Book Censorship Against Authors of Color

In honor of Banned Books Week, and in anticipation of UNLEARN Week with CISD, Dr. Eric Washington will present on the development and effects of censorship efforts, through book challenges and removals, against authors of color, with specific focus on Toni Morrison's works and advocacy against book banning. Join us in the Meeter Center Lecture Hall for this presentation and more info on joining the Banned Books Club, a month-long reading of The Bluest Eye followed by a culminating discussion meeting at the end of October.
