After forming in high school band class, ATJ has been performing around the state of Michigan for years. Their performances are always bursting with energy, something that has carried over into their debut single release, “Ginger,” a song written about frontman Jacob McLeod’s dog. With McLeod on vocals and guitar, Owen Ettinger on saxophone, Gabe Nagy on bass, and Austin Hinkley on drums, the group has solidified themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the Michigan music scene.
Since captivating audiences with their debut at Holland’s Park Theatre Open Mic in late summer of 2023, Lie. has been carving out their place in West Michigan’s music scene with their unique blend of rock genres. This five-piece ensemble combines dual lead guitars, engaging keyboard, and striking group harmonies to create a sound that’s as diverse as it is compelling. Taking inspiration from alternative and indie rock to timeless oldies and classic influences, Lie. has earned comparisons to both genre defying and defining icons like CAKE and The Band. Their fresh take on rock is both nostalgic and modern, leaving a lasting impression on every listener.
Stalagmite is a Kalamazoo based Post-Punk project started by Noah Shankool. The band focuses on juxtaposing moody atmospheres with infectious grooves to create an engaging experience that's been captivating the underground scene for the past year. Drawing from styles of New Wave and Synth Pop as well as the rhythms of Dance Music, the band imagines an immersive sound that's always keeping listeners on their toes. The live musicians include Shankool on Keyboard and Vocals along with LoudFeli on Guitar, Lucas Aguado on Bass, and Brendon Infante on Drums.
The Stray is a music and arts cafe located in Grand Rapids, MI. In addition to our craft beer, coffee and wine selection, our kitchen will be open serving our full dinner menu until 9pm! Get here early to snag your favorite seat and grab a bite to eat before the show begins. This show is free to attend, but you can support artists through tips.
The Stray is a listening room style venue and cafe, where performers are front and center, not background entertainment. We frequently ask attendees to silence their phones and keep conversations low out of respect to performers and other audience members.
