Join us for our second annual Art Prize Sketchwalk on the art-filled streets of downtown Grand Rapids!
Here’s the Plan:
10 am - meet at the Gerald R Ford Presidential Museum near the water feature for introductions to each other and the location. We’ll sketch for an hour/individually or buddy up if you like. There is art inside and out to sketch.
11 am - At the Ford Museum we’ll meet once again by the water feature and then walk across the Gillette Footpath to cross the Grand River on the way to DeVos Place. We’ll sketch here til noon. There is art inside and out to see and sketch.
12 Noon - Throw down #1 and group photo across the street from DeVos Place at the NE corner of Lyon and Monroe by the 4 Elements sculpture.
12:15 - Rosa Parks Circle is holding a Merchants & Makers Market which will have food trucks. Feel free to eat, shop, sketch, rest!
1 pm - Grand Rapids Art Museum has two outdoor installations for ArtPrize and there are things to sketch all up Monroe Center.
2 pm - meet at the corner of Louis and Monroe and we’ll walk to the Blue Bridge together to sketch the last leg of the day.
3 pm - meet on the west side of the river just over the Blue Bridge for our 2nd Throw Down and Group Photo.
3:15 pm - OVERTIME for anyone who still wants more 🥳

Things to bring: a collapsible stool/chair, water, backpack with your supplies and dress for the weather.

If you are able, it’s suggested to bring some sketch supplies to share with interested and inquisitive passersby! We’ll invite them to join us for a moment or the day!
