Join apple historian and author Daniel Bussey for an engaging presentation on his lifelong quest to uncover and preserve the rich history of apples in North America. Drawing on more than 30 years of research and orchard work, Bussey will share insights from his seven-volume Illustrated History of Apples in the United States and Canada, which documents over 16,000 varieties, enough to enjoy a different apple every day for 47 years. From heirloom treasures to cider-making favorites, he will explore the stories, flavors, and cultural impact of America’s most beloved fruit, and why understanding the apple is key to appreciating its enduring legacy.

Whether you love growing, preserving, cooking, baking, making cider, savoring unique flavors, exploring history and heritage, or simply learning more about apples, this presentation is for you!

Presenter & Author: Daniel Bussey is an orchardist, horticulturist, historian, author, and professional cider maker with over 30 years of experience teaching workshops on apple grafting, cider making, and heirloom varieties.
