Join us for Arthur Earl Simpson Day at Grambling State University, a heartfelt tribute honoring a man whose legacy in education, music, and community service has shaped generations.
On Friday, September 13th, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, the City of Grambling will issue an official proclamation recognizing Mr. Simpson’s incredible contributions. A light Appreciation Luncheon will follow, generously sponsored by Grambling State University.
The program will be led by former students, including GSU President Dr. Martin Lemelle Jr., who will share reflections on the impact Mr. Simpson has had on their lives and the broader community.
This year’s celebration carries even deeper meaning. The following day marks Mr. Simpson’s 77th birthday, and it comes just one year after he survived a near-traumatic health event. As he enjoys retirement, this moment is our opportunity to show him, while he can hear and feel it, just how much he is appreciated and loved.
Let’s come together to express our gratitude for the music, mentorship, and legacy that continues to inspire.
Admission is free, but seating is limited. RSVP to reserve your spot and help us celebrate a living legend.
