Join us at Tyler Arboretum for a special gathering and bird walk in memory of Tom Reeves.
A lifelong birder and naturalist, Tom was a friend, teacher, mentor, and inspiration. Before his passing at age 93 in December 2024, he touched countless lives with his warmth and generosity. Ever-upbeat and welcoming, Tom volunteered at Tyler Arboretum for more than 35 years, leading weekly bird walks and sharing his deep knowledge of birds, plants, trees, and all things in nature—always with a smile and a sense of humor.
Tyler’s vibrant birding community is part of Tom’s legacy, as is a memorial bench installed at Tyler Arboretum in his honor this past spring. We’ll gather at the bench to remember and celebrate the man who meant so much to so many. Afterwards, BCDC will lead a bird walk through Tyler’s meadows and woodlands in search of resident and migratory species.
Bring your binoculars and prepare to walk up to two miles on varied terrain. All ages 13 & up are welcome; a registered adult must accompany teens.
Gates open at 8:45 am, and we depart from the parking lot promptly at 9:00 am.
This program is FREE, but pre-registration is kindly requested. Register here:
