Object Agency - Are you ever disgusted by human breath? by Lisa Mårtensson
What are the objects we are surrounded with? What are the objects that make up our world? The objects we use, the objects we encounter, the things we know, put value to, the things we don’t know, the things we are unaware of
How do we separate things from other things?
There is a capacity to distinguish objects from one another in an otherwise inseparable entangled world. Conceiving of an object and acknowledging its existence can and actually does change the course of things. Generating space within space, world growing, object making.
It could play a key role in how we behave in the world segmenting its conditions.
The point of object-making is that once you forge or discover the existence of an object, you can potentially interact with it in a more conscious way at than you were already. It opens the possibility for composition.
When an object is defined, entrusted and shared by a larger community it becomes a sort of currency, something that enables trade and communication.
Then, what are the things that keep us together?
This mini festival is presenting four acts where, when collecting the acts, a common theme of objects became apparent.

We shall never be strangers to each other by Mirja Timm
Strangers can turn into lovers, but lovers never into strangers again. What does estrangement mean in times of social disconnection, increasing polarization, and detachment from the ‘natural’ world?
“We shall never be strangers to each other” is an immersive performance, and the work part of an exploration around the dilemma of ‘how to stay connected to self, world, and others in a disconnecting container?’
A friend of mine has always ended his letters with the words “We shall never be strangers to each other.”, and I wonder what it means to be a/part.
Mirja Timm (she/her) is an artist who works in the field of performative art, design and community work, with themes related to dis/connection, care and responsibility. The resulting works are often participatory and immersive.
Mirja grew up between peat bogs and the visual expanse of heathlands. She works with scents, stories, artefacts, soil and slowing-down, windows and entry-points, digestion-spaces, permaculture, and dilemmas.
She has a keen interest in examining how to find balance in an out-of-balance society. She also practices gardening, dancing with the plant-people, and somatic research.

XENO SARX Last Oblivion
XENO SARX is a connected system, exploring the threshold between dependency and control, the desire to maintain one's outer borders and a longing to transcend them, to disintegrate and be absorbed by an external force. XENO SARX is a choir of voices, luring you into a shimmering trap where control is as seductive as unsettling.
Last Oblivion is an artist duo consisting of Tina Damgaard (SE) and Elena Biner (CH) based in Copenhagen and Gothenburg. In their work Last Oblivion intertwines video, performance, text, sound and sculptural elements to build site-specific immersive performance installations. Through fictional worlds they explore liminal space and the in-between and how these spaces of transition affect our relation to each other and our surroundings. The notions of desire and social structures, and the matter of the incomplete body defined by a polarized society, are recurring themes in their work.

Object Agency Are you ever disgusted by human breath? by Lisa Mårtensson
In this performance the artist Lisa Mårtensson attempts to shift agency from herself to everyday objects and back again, collaborating with them as performers. Let the tampong dance, the Harlequin novel stretch and the thermos share memories from the mine.
Striving for a flat ontology in the performance situation and failing.
Lisa Mårtensson is a Malmö based performer, performance maker and leader of artistic collaborative processes.
She has a background in dance and performance art and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre with a Major in Conceptual Performing Arts from Malmö Theatre Academy. She is now in the process of taking her Masters degree in Contemporary Performative Arts at the University of Gothenburg.
She runs the performance duo Absurdum Temporary Art together with sound artist and composer Lotta Fahlén. Since 2019 the duo have created performance pieces and sound art pieces for black boxes, galleries and cityscapes, collaborating with other artists from different practices.
