Gilda will guide you through a warming up for body and mind with exercises inspired by yoga, pilates and release technique especially designed for what we need as tango dancers. This will ground you, help you to open up your body and make you ready to meet your dance partner for the day's workshops.
11:00 - 12:30 Communication and Taking Space: Advanced sacada technique and possibilities.
12:30 - 13 Short lunch break
13:00 - 14:30 Boleos: A sophisticated exploration of connection through one of Tango’s most tantalizing elements.
Sunday

11:00 - 12:30 Changing the Direction of Tango: The most useful Changes of Direction made accessible while opening the door to the modern era of Tango.
12:30 - 13:00 Short lunch break
13:30 - 14:30 Ganchos: Impossible timing made possible through increased awareness of both axis and the free leg of one’s partner.
The workshops are adapter for intermediate and Advanced level.

About Jaimes & Gilda
Jaimes Friedgen is one of the most accomplished and influential Tango teachers in the United States. Starting Tango as a teenager in the mid-Nineties, Friedgen had the opportunity to study with many extraordinary dancers and teachers, many of whom are no longer with us. He has carried forward their teaching as well as his own innovations by either founding or consulting for some of the most successful Tango schools in the U.S. and abroad. Gilda Stillbäck is a contemporary dancer, tango dancer and choreographer educated at The Royal Swedish Ballet School. After finishing her education in 2001 she discovered Argentine tango and moved to Paris and later to Buenos Aires to study with the foremost and most experimental teachers of the time. She started collaborating with Ezequiel Farfaro with whom she created the tango performance "B rör mig" (Touch me) that toured in Sweden and Argentina 2006-2009. Since then Gilda has been teaching and performing around the world collaborating with tango dancers such as Cacu (Lucho) Lucero, Daniel Carlsson, Pino Dangiola, Yanick Wyler amongst others. As a teacher Gilda is highly appreciated for her deep body knowledge and capacity to analyse and explain body mechanics within the movements. www.gildastillback.com
Jaimes and Gilda met for the first time on the dance floor in Amsterdam back in 2003. Since then they've spent many hours dancing and practising. They are very happy to finally start teaching together sharing their deep knowledge, passion and love for tango.
