Great Expectations

Great Expectations (1946) is a British drama film directed by David Lean, based on the 1861 novel by Charles Dickens and starring John Mills and Valerie Hobson.

Considered one of the finest and most faithful adaptations of the classic novel, this film explores complex themes of social climbing, wealth, guilt, and self-discovery through moody, gothic visual storytelling and masterful direction.
