The Tehipite Chapter of the Sierra Club is starting up its outings programs again.
The new Outings Chair is Barbara Showalter, who can be reached at 209-628-2065 (text messages are best), or at

We will be announcing future outings through our website, Facebook pages, and on Campfire. Outings are open to both members and to the general public. Minor children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
We hope that some experienced members will wish to become outings leaders. If you might be interested in this, we have an initial training program on Saturday and Sunday, October 11th and 12th, 2025 from 10 am to 5 pm in the Visalia area. This is being done jointly with the Kern-Kaweah Chapter.
The first day covers all the policies, administrative details and forms, and information on how to plan and carry out an outing. The second day covers first aid and CPR. It is okay to sign up for just one of the days. This particular training is free of charge; however, food is not provided, and any lodging desired must be covered by the participant. There is a limit to how many people can take the first aid/CPR class.
