Odd Socks is a little rebellion against the boring, and the predictable, it's about showing up exactly as you are, celebrating individuality, and connecting through music that moves you.
Presented by local DJ Kate Doherty plus some DJs you’ll know, some will surprise you. Sometimes it’ll feel familiar, other times it’ll push you somewhere new.
Think: techno, house, minimal, electro, drum & bass.
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲?
Because wearing mismatched socks is a joyful reminder that stepping outside the norm is freeing. We bring that same energy to the dancefloor.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗯𝗲:
Inclusive and welcoming - all backgrounds, identities, and abilities.
Zero tolerance for hate speech, discrimination, harassment, or bad vibes.
Respect each other, respect the space

🎧 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆:
Kate Doherty (they/them) has been energising dance floors for over two decades, shaping the Eora electronic scene with their eclectic blend of techno, house, electro, and funk.
Now based on Darkinjung Country, Kate is known for boundary-pushing sets that celebrate rhythm and community. A former resident for House of Mince and 4our, they’ve played major Sydney events including Subsonic and Mardi Gras, sharing stages with icons like Paula Temple, Helena Hauff, DJ Sprinkles, and Freddy K.
🎧 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼:
Marc Demo is a DJ whose sets span electro’s glam futurism, jacking house warmth, and glitch techno’s wonky shuffle, delivering bottom-heavy funk for dirty dancefloors.
Active in underground DIY events since the late 1990s, he’s DJed across Sydney, Dublin, the Blue Mountains, and Melbourne for over two decades. Resident and host of Mumbo Jumbo (Sydney), S.S.S.S. (Katoomba), and the Lockdown Love Inn virtual club, Demo champions authenticity over trends while supporting international artists like Aurora Halal and Detroit In Effect.
He joins the inaugural Odd Socks at FunHaus, alongside long-time friend and collaborator Kate Doherty.
🎧 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁 𝗩𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗻:
Matt Vaughan, architect of Sydney’s iconic queer party Loose Ends, has been a fixture in Australian queer nightlife for over 20 years.

Beyond Loose Ends, he’s performed at House of Mince, Club Kooky, Bad Dog, Confide, Trough/John, Sydney Mardi Gras, and Tropical Fruits, sharing stages with numerous international acts. He’s also played overseas, including NYC, San Francisco, Singapore, and Berlin’s legendary Berghain/Panorama Bar.
Vaughan champions personality, creativity, and self-expression, using music to cultivate freedom and community in queer nightlife.
