The Winter Solstice—the longest night, the holy dark—has been honored for thousands of years as the still point between death and rebirth. It is the moment when the sun pauses, the earth exhales, and the promise of returning light is born.
At Tethered, we honor this ancient turning with reverence and gratitude.
The solstice reminds us that darkness is not an absence, but a sanctuary. It slows us down, restores our inner ground, and prepares us for what wants to emerge. From this deepest dark, the light begins its slow return—one breath, one degree, one sacred step at a time.
Sacrament Circle · 4–5:30 PM
We will sit with Sonanga and Hapé, traditional South American medicines used to clear the mind, open the breath, and reconnect the heart. With respect for their origins, we welcome these allies into our northern winter to help us remember the warmth and fire within us—especially on the darkest night.
Community Social Hour · 5:30–7 PM
After ceremony, we’ll gather for a relaxed social hour with simple ritual, warm drinks, a small craft, and gentle community connection.
Join us as we honor the dark, welcome the returning light, and create a moment of stillness together on the turning wheel of the year.
