FrogWatch Training & Evening Frog Walk
The Nature Institute is excited to host a FrogWatch Gateway Chapter training on Saturday, March 7th, marking the first time this nationally recognized community science program will be offered at our site.
Schedule:
• Training: 4:30–5:30 pm
• Optional Frog Walk: after training
During the training, participants will learn how to identify local frog and toad species by their calls, understand FrogWatch monitoring protocols, and explore how community-collected data support amphibian conservation and research.
After the training, participants are invited to join an optional evening frog walk on The Nature Institute grounds to listen for calling frogs. If weather conditions are not suitable, an alternative hands-on activity will be offered during the same time.
This program is recommended for ages 14 and up, but families may participate together. Frog monitoring can be done as a group and is a great way to engage with nature as a family.
No prior experience is necessary. Join us for an engaging evening of learning, listening, and community science at The Nature Institute.
