Sea Shanties & Songs of the Sea aboard Tall Ship the Kathleen & May

Tall Ship, the Kathleen & May, a National Treasure is lying in Gloucester Docks and is in need of emergency repairs. This fundraising event has been made possible through the kind generosity of the performers for donating their time and talents, a celebration of maritime heritage, melody and mirth.

Performances start at 12 noon on each day and will be a traditional mix of shanties, folk music and songs of the sea - all the while raising vital funds for the Kathleen & May. Enjoy lively melodies that celebrate maritime history and the joy of community spirit.

Gangplank opens from 11.30 am. Refreshments and homemade bakes available with all proceeds donated to the organiser of the event, the Kathleen & May CIC for the 'Save Tall Ship, the Kathleen & May' campaign.

The Kathleen & May is a historic ship and due to its design and construction is not suitable for wheelchair or buggy access at this time. Access to the ship is via a gangway from the dockside to the main deck. The vessel is under cover and performances will be sheltered from the elements, although layers of warmth are advisable as November can be chilly aboard.

Also, the cargo hatch seating may not be the most comfortable so do please feel free to bring a cushion along for comfort.

Tickets numbers will be limited for two very special days of live performaces, so secure your ticket early to avoid disappointment.
