BESSIE BLUM NEW WORK

From September 1 through September 30, Bessie Blum will be showing at Local Colors Artists’ Cooperative in Gloucester a “Family Album,” a series of all-new mixed-media collage/paintings based on traditional family photos culled from boxes of random memorabilia. Bessie says "Out of what were often highly formal family portraits, some dating back possibly to pre-1900 Russia, as well as snapshots of family configurations never really seen, I have added life as I like to imagine it to people as I like to imagine them."
The gallery will host an artist’s reception on September 5, from 4-6 p.m., and Bessie will also be in the gallery on September 9, 11, 23, and 30.
