CMS Fall Concert: Gracious Light

What variety! This eclectic program flows seamlessly from piece to piece and there’s something for everyone. Loosely structured like a Mass setting, the repertoire includes choral classics by Felix Mendelssohn, John Rutter, and Randall Thompson; Scandinavian pieces by Knut Nystedt, Ola Gjeilo, and Egil Hovland’s concerto for bassoon and choir; Russian church music featuring the Bass section’s earth-rumbling low Cs; pieces by modern choral rockstars Jocelyn Hagen and Michael John Trotta; and concludes with a stirring arrangement of Precious Lord, Take My Hand.
