Now more than ever, the Autry is committed to supporting our community during the rebuilding phase. We see the Autry as a place for respite and a celebration of the arts, history, and culture of our beloved city and region. Our family programming, education programs, and partnerships are all connected to our love and support of our community here in Los Angeles.
Our annual Block Party is perhaps the best example of this, with its primary goal of bringing all members of the community together for a day of fun. At this year’s Block Party on September 27th, we will celebrate local heroes and community members who came to the aid of those in need during the fires and who continue to support the community to this day. We are working with our local elected officials to offer a special program featuring our local heroes at the Block Party and to invite local heroes and their families across the region to join us.
We invite the entire LA community to enjoy a carnival on the lawn and activities for the whole family to enjoy throughout the entire museum.
The Annual Autry Block Party will feature:
Cultural Music and Dance Stage on the Plaza
Carnival Games, Bounce Houses, Mechanical Bull, Ferris Wheel and Mini Train
Live Music on the South Lawn and East Garden Lawn
Plein Air Painting by the California Art Club
Horses: Photo Op and Grooming Workshops by Urban Saddles
Touch a Truck: Meet and honor local emergency responder heroes on the East Garden Lawn
Docent-Led Tours
PBS Character: Meet and greet in the Lobby
Car Show: Classic Cars, Hot Rods and Luxury vehicles
Family Play Space with Educational Activities for kids and families
Market Vendors and Community Partner Booths on the South Lawn
