SUNDAY, Sept 21 from 10 to noon!
Pictured is Tina in a photo taken this month by one of our Los Angeles for Animals activists at the bleak Tulsa Zoo. We are keeping our eyes on Billy and Tina as they endure the transfer which should never have happened - from the Los Angeles Zoo to another zoo rather than to sanctuary. We continue fighting for them. We will not forget. We will not forgive.
Our demands:
🐘 Billy and Tina are released to sanctuary from the Tulsa Zoo and the LA Zoo director Denise Verret does everything in her considerable and unmerited power to correct her previous ill-considered decision to send them to another zoo!
🐘 The Los Angeles Zoo and the City of Los Angeles commit publicly to never procuring new elephants and permanently closing the elephant exhibit! The zoo claims that it is "on hiatus" from exhibiting elephants but we demand it be permanent. #ElephantFreePolicy
All are welcome to join the fight to #FreeBilly and #FreeTina and for an #ElephantFreeLAZoo! Join us at the next zoo protest:
SUNDAY, Sept 21 from 10 to noon at the LA Zoo - 5333 Zoo Drive. Free parking.
With summer still going strong, wear a hat or bring an umbrella, and definitely bring water, preferably in a reusable container.
Whether you want to hold a sign, chant, do speakouts, take photos and videos, hand out flyers or talk to zoo goers, we have a place for you with our team. Billy and Tina need you! Flyers and posters are provided but we welcome handmade ones for Billy and Tina as well! YES, to megaphones, NO to talking to cops.
