Dr. Picone completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Temple University in Philadelphia and completed a graduate certificate in Cell, Molecular, and Developmental Biology at Villanova University. She relocated to the Caribbean to attend veterinary school and graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. Dr. Picone completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center outside Milwaukee before completing an oncology clinical trials internship and medical oncology residency program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After many long and cold Wisconsin winters, Dr. Picone is excited to call Richmond her new home and looks forward to caring for pets and clients in the area.
Dr. Allison Fuchs grew up in New Jersey prior to earning her DVM degree from Oklahoma State University. She then completed a small animal rotating internship at BluePearl Atlanta. Dr. Fuchs returned to the Midwest for a combined Master of Science and Ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri. She enjoys all aspects of comparative ophthalmology, especially ophthalmic manifestation of systemic disease and microsurgery. Outside of work, she enjoys horseback riding, hiking, kayaking, and baking.
Dr. Schettler is originally from Nebraska, but earned his veterinary degree from Kansas State University in 2019. After graduation, he completed a rotating internship at Kansas State followed by a specialty internship in Diagnostic Imaging at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston. He then went on to earn a master's degree and complete his residency training in diagnostic imaging at Auburn University. Dr. Schettler has special interests in musculoskeletal and abdominal ultrasound, neuroimaging, and minimally invasive image-guided procedures, but enjoys all aspects of radiology. When not at work, Dr. Schettler loves to travel and explore new places, as well as go hiking with his dogs, Daisy and Hamilton.
Dr. Young received a Master of Science degree in Anatomy and Neurobiology from Colorado State University where he also received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. He spent the first few years out of school working in general practice. In 2007, Dr. Young completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at South Paws Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center before being accepted as the first resident into the BVNS residency program in July of 2008. Dr. Young has a strong interest in neurosurgical oncology and has been involved in several studies, data collection for the NIH, and presented at several human conferences and grand rounds at Mt. Sinai.
