This gathering with Anthony Ward is a chance to step out of the winter chill and into something gentler. A candlelit circle where stories, poems, music, and a touch of song invite everyone to settle among old friends and new faces. Anthony brings with him the depth of someone who has genuinely lived the Glastonbury journey, meeting the ups and downs of this unique place with resilience, presence, and just the right touch of humour.
His words and melodies draw from seasons in the orchard, treasured connections, and the quiet strength found in both solitude and companionship. Poems and songs, including new work written specially for this evening, come together with reflections from his time as orchard keeper on the sacred hill at Chalice Well, as well as experiences and insights gathered along a wide and interesting path.
This evening welcomes all who have lived and learned through this isle, those who know the landscape well, anyone newly discovering its ways, and anyone drawn to honest conversation and a sense of connection. Leave your shoes at the door, bring thick socks or slippers, and settle in for a gathering that feels open-hearted and alive on a November night.
All are welcome to join us at Goddess Hall, Benedict Street.
Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
Entry is £8 in advance from Man, Myth & Magik (Magdalene Street, next to the Abbey doorway), or on the door (subject to availability), with light refreshments and comfortable seating.
Anthony’s new book will be available tonight at a very special Glastonbury Inner Light price a keepsake from the evening or a precious gift for someone who would appreciate its beautiful words and spirit.
