Before Senator Bryan Hughes and Representative Cole Hefner's 89th Texas Legislative Session Synopsis, Wood County Precinct Chair John van Compernolle will present his 2025 Legislative Statistics report. This report is based on data gathered from approximately 11,500 bills downloaded from the Texas Legislature Online.
During his presentation, John will explain how he summarizes these bill counts based on several factors: the commonality of the author, the last action taken on the bill, the priorities of the Republican Party of Texas, speaker identification, and committee assignments.
John also wants to clarify that his Legislative Statistics report solely counts bills without considering their size, quality, or contentiousness. Any conclusions drawn from this report should be made with a full understanding of these limitations.
Additionally, a TX CD 32 candidate will be attending this special meeting. Those from Camp, Upshur, Wood, Rains, and further west will have an opportunity to meet this candidate.
