Kopachuck State Park Beach Cleanup Scheduled for October 11
Gig Harbor, WA — September 3, 2025 — The Greater Gig Harbor Foundation’s EnviroCorps program, in partnership with Washington State Parks, will host a community beach cleanup at Kopachuck State Park on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The effort is supported by a generous contribution from Dell Technologies and funding from the Lu Winsor Memorial Environmental Grant program, underscoring a shared commitment to the protection of Puget Sound’s shorelines and marine ecosystems.
The cleanup will focus on the removal of marine debris and shoreline litter. “We will be targeting the usual litter that washes up with the tide, with a special emphasis on treated lumber,” said Rob Rigoni, Program Director for the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation’s EnviroCorps.
Volunteers will be provided with gloves, bags, and disposal services. Participants are advised to dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear suitable for walking along the shoreline.
