This spring, the CRS presents a brand new venture called Pianofest - an exciting opportunity to hear three of Canada’s finest pianists in a weekend festival format.
Friday, Feb. 27 - Kevin Chen, the young phenom from Calgary who is sweeping international competitions
Saturday, Feb. 28 - Charles Richard-Hamelin, Silver medalist and winner of the Krystian Zimerman Prize at the 2015 International Chopin Piano
Sunday, March 1 - Janina Fialkowska, one of the most celebrated international pianists of the past century
All three matinee concerts, performed on the Society’s lovingly maintained 9-foot Steinway, take place at the Raven’s Cry Theatre in Sechelt. There will also be outreach programming, pre/post-concert chats with the artists and special events.
