After a little summer break, COASTAL SOUND CLUB is back for a little fall taster before we fire it up for 2026.
The evenings selectors will be BABASHASHA and PROJECT FUTURE with SKYSEED on the mic. Expect a multi-genre buffet of sweet and soulful bass music and rap.

BABASHASHA is a DJ and event curator based on Turtle Island. His sets flow seamlessly between genres and BPMs — blending deep bass, hypnotic grooves, and soulful vocals into a consistent, evolving journey. Using live stem remixing, he reshapes tracks on the fly to keep each moment alive and unexpected. A supporter of local artists and community sound, Babashasha brings an authentic, grounded energy to every stage. As the host of Roots & Rhythm at The Beaumont Studios in Vancouver, he creates dance experiences where connection, rhythm, and joy move as one.

SKYSEED is a multidimensional hip-hop artist and DJ. His music moves between feel-good hip-hop anthems, deep conscious tracks with powerful messages, and high-energy west coast bass infused Rap. Unafraid to have fun while also digging into meaningful truths, Sky bridges worlds by bringing boom-bap roots into a fresh new age old school sound.

PROJECT FUTURE is a DJ/Producer/Promoter/Sound Operator based out of the Shíshálh Nation (Sunshine Coast BC). He started playing drums and jazz in high school 30 plus years ago and slowly morphed into the world of the DJ. Hip Hop and early rave music we’re his first influences in djing and has come to play a multitude of genres blending dubstep, breaks, dub, garage, dancehall, dnb, halftime, leftfield bass and genres that you've never even heard of, doing live mashups, remixes, and scratching. Expect the unexpected! Jason has curated well over 100 shows in the last 15 years and is a purveyor of sound system culture and its roots. He has run his own sound systems and currently in the process of hand building his own.
