About A Glimmer of Hope Foundation: A Glimmer of Hope Foundation (GOH) is a Pittsburgh-based breast cancer foundation founded by Diana Napper in 1994. It was established to honor the wishes of her best friend, Carol Jo Weiss Friedman, who lost her battle with the disease in 1990. Diana, a wife and mother of four, committed to pursuing her dream of becoming a jewelry designer and using her craft to fund a hospice in Carol Jo’s name. Over time, Diana’s mission evolved into creating a platform to support breast cancer patients and their loved ones, leading to the founding of A Glimmer of Hope Foundation. As a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, GOH relies on a dedicated team of 50 volunteers committed to advancing the fight against breast cancer through research, programs, and studies—particularly focusing on premenopausal breast cancer, which is often more aggressive in younger women.
