Hawk Watches take place throughout the country to monitor the movement of raptors during migration. Hawk Watches start in September and continue through November. Lake Erie Metropark is one of the major hawk migration routes. It is also the official site for the Detroit River Hawk Watch (DRHW). Counters from the DRWH watch migration daily. Learn about Hawks and Hawk Migration. Hawk Watch experts will help identify birds. Plan to hike a bit and visit the Marshland Museum if time permits. This field trip is being held in collaboration with Michigan Audubon’s Young Birders’ Network. Dress for the weather.

A Park entry fee is applicable or an HCMA permit is required.
