Calling all knitters, crocheters and seamstress!
We invite you to be a part of something extraordinary by helping us restock our supply of beautiful baby hats, cocoons, booties, gowns and preemie scrubs for the Terrebonne General NICU.
Whether you craft individually or with your knitting group, your handmade gifts of love will bring warmth and joy to families with babies in the NICU. These items can be for any season or time of year, any color or design. We invite volunteers to create unique and fun Summer, Fall Winter and Spring hats, or Cocoon sets for the NICU Babies.
Ideas: Disney, Animals, Witches, Ghosts, Frankenstein, Pumpkins, butterflies, dragons, princesses, superheroes, mermaid tails, snow man, elves ……The sky is the limit.

Fabrics and yarns must be very soft and machine washable. Avoid scratchy, rough or stiff fabrics/yarns. Acrylic yarns are best; cotton yarns are acceptable but tend to work up too stiff for tiny babies.
Do NOT use yarn that is excessively old. Yarn can become dry and brittle with age. “Scratch Test” when choosing yarn or fabric. Rub the yarn/fabric on the inside of your upper arm or neck. If it feels scratchy, it is too rough to be used to make preemie items.
You can be as creative as you want.

If you are local, you can drop off items at the above address. Just put the items in a sealed plastic bag and leave by the front door if I'm not home. Please include contact information so we know who to thank.
We log all donations. If sending a large donation, a written inventory of your items is very helpful. If you would like feedback on the items you sent, please include an email address.
Donations are made to the hospital we support on or before holidays and special events.
