You are invited to a unique opportunity to explore the Germantown Dam on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 2PM to 5PM.
This open-house event offers the community a behind-the-scenes tour of the dam. Tour highlights include:
- Hear directly from experts involved in the dam’s care and maintenance
- Learn how current and future projects are keeping the dam strong
- View an exhibit on the 1913 Flood and the history of the dam's construction
- Discover how the entire Flood Protection System operates

ABOUT GERMANTOWN DAM
Germantown Dam is an earthen embankment located across Twin Creek in southwestern Montgomery County near the Village of Germantown. Conservancy Road goes across the top of the dam. Construction of the dam began in March of 1918 and was completed in November of 1920.
