Bridge Renaming Ceremony

Memphis, please join me to honor a true hometown hero.

On Monday, Sept. 22, 2025 at 9:30 AM, we will rename the S. Perkins Road Bridge as the Maurice Ira Salmon, Jr. Memorial Bridge—recognizing the then 20-year-old who saved lives after the bridge collapse in 1980.
