Op 3 juli organiseerden we samen met Intal Gent een GKO Café waarin we in gesprek gingen over culturele boycot, apartheidvrije zones en ethisch aankoopbeleid. Kunstenaars en cultuurwerkers wisselden ervaringen uit en zochten naar manieren om verantwoordelijkheid te nemen in tijden van bezetting en genocide.
Op 12 september bouwen we hierop voort tijdens een bijzonder panelgesprek in het kader van Het TheaterFestival, in VIERNULVIER, Gent. Samen met internationale en lokale stemmen verdiepen we het gesprek en focussen we op de vraag: hoe vertalen we woorden naar concrete actie?
Met aanwezigheid en inbreng van:
Samir Eskanda – Palestijns-Ierse kunstenaar, organisator en mensenrechtenactivist (UK) (
Alain Platel – choreograaf en lid van de BDS-beweging
Daarnaast zullen ook andere kunstenaars, cultuurwerkers en experten uit de sector hun getuigenissen, brieven en engagementen delen rond culturele boycot en ethisch beleid. We brengen praktijkvoorbeelden, reflecties en strategieën samen richting concrete acties.

On July 3, together with Intal Ghent, we organized a GKO Café where we discussed cultural boycott, apartheid-free zones, and ethical purchasing policies. Artists and cultural workers exchanged experiences and explored how to take responsibility in times of occupation and genocide.
On September 12, we continue this conversation with a special panel as part of Het TheaterFestival, at VIERNULVIER, Ghent. Bringing together international and local voices, we will focus on the urgent question: how do we turn words into concrete action?
With the presence and input of:
Samir Eskanda – Palestinian-Irish artist, organizer, and human rights activist (UK)
Alain Platel – Choreographer and BDS movement member
In addition, other artists, cultural workers, and experts will share their testimonies, letters, and commitments on cultural boycott and ethical policies. Together we bring forward practical examples, reflections, and strategies for action.
