đđąđ¶ This Canadian alt-country duo delivers catchy, boot-stompinâ tunes with gritty stories from the road.
Intertwined twangy and jangly guitars, powerful vocal harmonies and a kick drum made from an old suitcase, Jaime April and Jason Moon make up the UK-based duo APRIL MOON. Known for their lively, feel-good shows, unique take on 70s, 80s & 90s covers and fun, well crafted songwriting, they make a formidable duo. Growing up on the prairies beside the North Saskatchewan River in Canada, embracing the open road became a necessity to travel between venues and the pair havenât put down roots since, splitting their time between several countries a year and living out of a cool campervan they call 'The Clubhouse'.
đ APRIL MOON call their genre Canadiana - think Americana, but with a big helping of northern charm that oozes through their style of kooky storytelling and lyrics, creating a vivid, sunshine-filled world that covers everything from love, scandal and divorce to life on the prairies, living in an abandoned brewery, cow autopsies, and the nomad life.
đ APRIL MOONâs fun, whimsical songwriting style fuses genres, weaving effortlessly from alt-country and Americana to folksy blues and rock although their new EP, Forgiveness Juice definitely leans towards the sounds of their more rootsy upbringing. Following up on their self-released full album The Other One Was You, the duo worked in a Liverpool studio with a funding grant to record the new music and gain the support of radio programs such as BBC Introducing and Countryline Homegrown. Forgiveness Juice was rolled out with a headline âAmericana all-dayerâ show at Future Yard in Birkenhead and is followed by an extended tour that will take the duo across the UK, Europe and Canada.
With a whole heap of prairie, feel good vibes, blended with a bit of the open road and a touch of Scouse poetry, đ APRIL MOON invite you to pull up a chair to their campfire and have a listen.
The EP has been rolled out as a series of singles over the past year, culminating with Echoville , a song with lyrics by Jasonâs friend and Liverpool poet, the late Edmund Hudson and a countrified, Johnny Cash-esque cover of Backstreet Boys I Want It That Way .
Bursting with hometown, rural charm and irresistibly catchy energy, this collection slides easily between sun-soaked indie folk anthem Long May We Roam , playful honky-tonk with Uptown Lady Life , and big, guitar-driven grooves with Echoville , all wrapped up in the duoâs unmistakable rootsy spirit.
Get ready to raise a glass â this is one batch of Forgiveness Juice youâll want to drink down.
